Color - Sound - 16 mm - 00:23:30 An inservice training film designed to inform foresters and fire suppression crews as to the objectives, planning, execution, and benefits of correct prescribed burning in pine forests of the southern coastal plain. Prescribed fire, properly planned and executed, is a useful management tool. Among its benefits are control of undergrowth, reduction of fire hazards, improvement of wildlife habitat, and control of brown spot in young longleaf pine.
