Biographical Sketch

Edwin Mead Wilcox (1876-1931) was a botanist and university professor. He completed his B.S. and M.S. degrees at the University of Ohio, and his Ph.D. at Harvard University. From 1901 to 1902, he served as a professor of botany and entomology at Oklahoma A&M College (now Oklahoma State University), and conducted research for the Oklahoma Agricultural Experiment Station. During the 1900s and 1910s, Wilcox also conducted research at the experiment stations at the Alabama Polytechnic Institute (now Auburn University) and the University of Nebraska. His research focused on crop diseases.
