Biographical Sketch
Severn Run's Cazador (also called Cazador or Caz) was an American Kennel Club (AKC) registered German wire-haired pointer who was trained to detect screwworm infestation in livestock. Cazador served as a detector dog with the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Agricultural Research Service's Screwworm Research Unit from 1988 until his death in 2000. USDA scientist John B. Welch trained Cazador after acquiring him through the U.S. Customs Service's Detector Dog training facility in Front Royal, Virginia.
