Biographical Sketch
Sterling Brown Hendricks (1902-1981) served within several departments of the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA). He held the position of chief scientist in the Mineral Nutrition Engineering Research Laboratory, Agricultural Research Service (ARS) from 1943 to 1970. Hendricks was an accomplished chemist and mineralogist. He was awarded the ARS Science Hall of Fame posthumously in 1993, and the Sterling B. Hendricks Memorial Lectureship Award was established in 1982.
