Biographical Sketch

Douglas Ensminger (1910-1989) was a specialist in rural sociology. He earned his B.S. in Agriculture from the University of Missouri in 1933, his M.A. in Rural Public Welfare in 1934 from the University of Missouri, and his Ph.D. in Rural Sociology from Cornell University in 1939. Ensminger worked for the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) from 1939 to 1951.
