The Charles Valentine Riley Printing Blocks consist of 1,211 woodcuts, electrotypes (electroplated lead molds of original engravings), and metal casts used to illustrate Riley's publications. Approximately 508 blocks were figures for the nine annual reports (1869-1877) produced by Riley when he served as Missouri's first state entomologist.
