Cackelator Poultry Feed Calculator
Content Description
The Poultry Science Department, University of Wisconsin, donated an electronic instrument housed in a leather luggage-style case titled "CACKALATOR, Linthicum, Maryland, 21090." This electronic device was carried to the farm and used by Ag-Way Co-op feed representatives and flock owners to make nutritional determinations to provide the highest net income for the poultryman. An early, on-the-farm computer, the CACKALATOR's 21 switches, dials, and knobs were used to formulate the crude protein, metabolizable energy, methionine in protein, etc. in the finished feed.
