This subseries contains original art for the "Smokey Says" cartoon series, which promoted fire prevention and was published in newspapers and magazines. The bulk of the cartoons in this subseries were drawn by Rudy Wendelin, with a few of the earlier pieces drawn by Harry Rossoll.

Scope and Contents From the Sub-Series: The photographic prints comprise over 450 images (not including duplicates), dating from 1939 to 1994. Most are black and white, but there are numerous color photographs as well. These images document the animals, people, and activities involved with the Cooperative Forest Fire Prevention (CFFP) campaign.
